Nancie Wiseman opened Nancie Knits
in April, 1987
in Sacramento, California. The first store was small and
shared space with a quilt shop. As the two businesses
grew, they separated and Nancie moved her store to
Riverside Boulevard in 1989. The new store grew and
prospered until a problem with the lease forced the
store's closure in March, 1999.
The Nancie Knits "empire" grew to be a very well
known producer of Knitting Videos and
DVD's Books and Patterns. Nancie has now written 9 books on
Knitting and crochet. They are all available here, and the only
place you can get them AUTOGRAPHED TOO!
While some of Nancie's knitting designs are self-published,
others have been published by Prism and Trendsetter yarns
and magazines including Knitter's, Interweave Knits and
Cast On. Nancie's work has also appeared in articles in
Knit 'N Style and Piecework magazines and she wrote
a pattern for Martha Stewart Living magazine for their
Knitting 101 article that was published in the fall of 1998.
Nancie's Book:
The
Knitter’s Book of Finishing Techniques,
published by Martingale and Co is in it's 9th printing thanks to
wonderful knitters all over the country like you who bought the
book. If you don't have a copy yet, be sure to place your order

And the book: Knitted
Shawls, Stoles
and Scarves also published by Martingale and Co is in its
8th printing, Thanks again to people like you.
Knitting With Wire and Crochet with
Wire, published by Interweave Press
have been 2 more popular books that have started people knitting
with this new "fiber" making jewelry and sculpture. You wouldn't
believe what I'm doing with it now. It's all hush hush because
it's for the government, I'll tell you more when I can.
And of course, there is
Lace
From the Attic, published by Interweave Press. This was my
first book, you know, the one that got me started. It's a
charming story, even if you aren't a lace knitter you'll love
the story of Blanche Beau and her collection of knitted Lace.
